CNM Construction Bridge Project: The CNM Construction Bridge Project was a team assignment during Project Management PMGT 501 Fundamentals of Project Management. Typically, there is an idea, a requirement and this becomes a project. The CNM Construction Bridge Project goes beyond this state. Demand is what drives most projects, but what if the demand is a future state?

The CNM Construction Bridge Project realizes that demand maybe just a potential. Ready for this potential this project prepares the organization to be at the forefront of readiness and ahead of the competition. This is a hypothetical project for a large construction company that has vast experience working with state transportation projects in the Los Angeles area. In event of a major earthquake in the region, our company would have a project plan organized and ready since time is of the essence.

CNM Construction is a fictional company that mirrors many of the attributes of C. C. Myers, Inc., a construction company in Southern California who was spot-lighted during an in class video detailing the repair of the MacArthur Maze bridge in San Francisco. This bridge collapsed in 2007 when a gasoline tanker truck crashed and burned on the bridge.

Denver International Airport (DIA) Airport Case Study:  In 1985, city officials envisioned the Denver International Airport as a landmark replacement for the ageing Stapleton International Airport, Stapleton International Airport was the fifth busiest airport in the United States. The city visualized a grand plan that reflected its personality. It would be the first major construction of a United States airport this size since the Dallas-Fort Worth airport completed in 1974, and would be the largest airport in the United States.

This paper is based on "Kerzner's" book Project Management Case Studies, Does Denver Need a New Airport? (Kerzner, 2013). Stakeholders are analyzed, project scope creep reviewed, and project team effectiveness ascertained.
